Whilst stumbling through the interweb, I came across a service called djtxt. Basically, this is a service that allows people to send a text message with their requests and then Grooveshark automatically finds their songs and adds them to your playlist. It’s kind of like a free jukebox! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to satisfy a large group of people by assuming I know the music they want to listen to. And there’s nothing worse than the guy who keeps changing songs every minute-and– half because he’s “trying to find that one song” or because he decides he “doesn’t like this song anymore.” I don’t want to be that guy. I try to play something for everyone, but you can only play Girl Talk so many times before people start questioning how long they’ve been drinking.
That’s why this djtxt looks like it could work pretty well. Just head over to their site to get it set up, tell everyone at the party (or those with good music taste) that they can text their requests to the service, and set your browser to full-screen. People will be able to see what’s coming up next, and add their own favorite tunes to the mix. It all looks pretty easy. Check out the video or hit up their website for more information.
