Watching TED talks Ancient Clues last night on Netflix and had to rewatch this one. David Christian gives one of the best explanations of evolution I have ever heard, with a brilliant infographic to match. This speech has everything a ted talk should have: ingenuity, information, entertainment, insight, and even a call to action. This is probably the best Ted talk I have ever seen.
Christian and his colleagues have a project they’re calling the bighistoryproject.com where they provide tools to teach every high school student about the origins of the universe, life, and man. At the end of the video, he suggests that every student in the world should be learning about big history if we want to continue the rapid rate of our collective learning. This lesson is imperative in the context of climate conversations.
I can’t describe the feeling I get from watching this talk and thinking about its implications.
